In a weird case, two workers from Rudraprayag’s electricity department were suspended for cutting off the power supply of a Kotwali police station as well as the residence of the District Judge.
So what had triggered these employers? News18 reported that these two workers got into a quarrel with the policemen for not wearing face masks. Both of them were fined, as a result. Not happy with the fine, they got back at the policemen by cutting off the police station’s power.
The police then informed the officials of the power department about the situation. After that, the two workers were suspended. Thus, a case was registered.
According to the police, sub-inspectors Vijay Pratap Rahi and Mansur Ali were checking if residents were following the government’s COVID-19 guidelines. They then saw two people riding on a bike approaching and neither of them had face masks on.
After being stopped by the inspectors, the two said they were Surendra Singh Lingwal and Mahavir Singh. Both were from the Bellani Rudraprayag’s electricity department. Each of them had to pay a fine of Rs 100 for not following the guidelines. While Mahavir accepted his fault, Surendra didn’t. This led to a quarrel and the power cut. After the incident, the power was restored while the two employees were charged and suspended from their job.
