Electric-Powered Helicopter Has Achieved World Record Of The Longest Flight

An independent California-based engineering company won a record in bringing the electric-powered helicopter called Tier 1 Engineering to the air for the longest time.

Electric vehicles are increasingly encouraged to use to protect natural resources and the environment. Not only do ground vehicles but electric drivetrains are also actively put into the air such as eVTOLs, hovercrafts, and others. Many people are not fond of the idea of using electric power in the air because of limited electricity and unsecured safety. However, an independent California-based engineering company won a record in bringing the electric-powered helicopter to the air for the longest time.

The fully electric aircraft has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the longest flight distance and time

Amazingly, that helicopter has achieved the farthest flight of the Guinness World Record at the moment. The flight took 55km (equivalent to 30 nautical miles), it departed at Los Alamitos Army Airfield. The all-electric helicopter flew in the air at an altitude of 800 feet at 150km / h and flew within 22 minutes.

The main purpose of making this aircraft is to impart human organs but not to the environment

The company produces an all-electric helicopter called Tier 1 Engineering. The purpose of producing this non-exhaust helicopter is to serve the need to transit-human organs for transplants. It is used by a biotechnology company called Lung Biotechnology to increase transit time and protect the environment.

The R44 asks for a large payload of batteries.

This helicopter uses a double electric motor built by racing engineering company Rinehart Motion Systems. The exterior of this helicopter is the old Robinson R44 helicopter which was removed the Brammo. Instead, it is equipped with 67-kilowatt long stretches of lithium polymer batteries.

It uses electric drivetrains to fly up

This is not the only helicopter that uses electric motors to fly. Previously, a SureFly model had the form of an octocopter using a hybrid engine, it was dubbed 'hybrid-electric eVTOL multi-copter'. However, Tier 1 Engineering helicopters are fully powered by electric drivetrains, instead of using hybrid engines like SureFly.
