The Indian authorities, after introducing multiple incentives for the push of electric vehicles, are bringing a new look to these vehicles so that it will stand out from the IC engine ones. Electric vehicles have been used for electric vehicles. Now, electric auto-rickshaws in Mumbai will have the same thing.
Besides the green plates, a TOI report suggests that, electric three-wheelers in Mumbai will also get a new look with white and blue as the two dominant colors. While white will be used for the hoods, blue will be for the body. The number plates will be in green, as suggested by the government in an earlier proposal.
The proposal for the e-auto rickshaws has received approval from the State Transport Authority. The proposal arrived days before the region’s authorities put the poll code of conduct into implementation. Now, all is left is the state government’s final approval which is expected to be made after the assembly elections in different states.
The environmental-friendly rickshaws have already been tested in the region. To give Mumbai drivers a demonstration, an e-auto was brought from Pune. Once the three-wheelers finally hit the roads, they will have certain advantages compared to other means of transport.
Both the state governments and the central have been offering several incentives to electric vehicles, including permits on the roads and exemption from some certain taxes.
With a striking appearance, using green, blue and white, transport officials can easily identify the kind of vehicles.
