Due To Website Glitch, Man Accidentally Placing Orders For 28 Tesla Cars

Due to a website glitch, a German man accidentally placed orders for 28 Tesla cars from the company’s website. His purchases amounted to around 12 crore.

His story was then shared on Reddit by his son. Under the account “Ballon Man,” the son said that his order had purchased 28 Tesla Model 3 instead of 1.

The father decided to get a new car after the German government announced a support policy. His choice was Tesla with environmentally-friendly cars. Most of the company's customers have already been familiar with purchasing their cars online.

So exactly what happened you may ask? According to what Ballon Man shared, his dad clicked on the “confirm” button to place his order. But nothing happened, so he kept on clicking that button for 2 hours.

At last, the website sent him a “confirmed” notification. But then, each and every attempt of him to click on the “confirm” button made a fresh order. And all of the 28 orders were confirmed. The total bill was 1.4 million Euros, a shocking number.

When he tried to cancel the 27 orders that he mistakenly placed, each vehicle had a 100 Euro (Rs 8,500) non-refundable penalty. And the total sum of penalty was 2,800 Euros or Rs 23,8300.

Lucky for the family, after contacting the company, their problem was solved. Tesla helped them cancel their order without having to pay any extra charge.
