Farmers in New Zealand are taking advantage of the development of technology to make their work more convenient. In particular, they used the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise, a drone equipped with a dog-barking loudspeaker to help them blanket their sheep, according to Radio New Zealand.
A drone helps the work of shepherd dogs
The shepherd Corey Lambeth said drones brought surprisingly effective results, as usual, old cows would resist the direction of shepherd dogs. However, they would not do so if they were herded by drones.
Radio New Zealand posted a video showing the Lambeth shepherd doing his daily work using a drone with a fierce barking dog to drive cows.
Ben Crossley is the owner of the farm that is transmitted over four generations of his family, and this is the first time he has used drones to control his herds. The DJI Mavic Enterprise is a drone suitable for this job because it was designed with the primary purpose of sounding, just by barking the dog, it could become "a good shepherd dog."
This is not the first time farmers apply drones to farming. Many farmers around the world have used drones to cultivate and survey crops. Although the use of technology equipment in agriculture is still unpopular in many places, it is said to be a development trend in the future, according to the Washington Post.
Time shepherd with the help of drones much faster than usual
Radio New Zealand also mentioned shepherds in their posts. The inclusion of drones inbreeding does not mean that they will replace the work of shepherd dogs. The farmers trained their dogs to work together with drones of harmony and professionalism. Although the performance of drones is very high compared to the traditional way, Lambeth said, dogs always have room on their farms. We all know that electronic devices or drones need to charge them, and that is Mavic's current weakness.
