Every day, Hannah and two other trainers with their 12 dogs begin their delivery service. On average, they go out for 4 to 6 trips per day.

Many countries have been put under lockdown because of COVID-19. Governments have advised their citizens to only go outside to buy essential items. In New York, many grocery stores and supermarkets have shifted to using bikes for delivery.

However, this girl has decided to use another means of transportation which has caught everyone off guard. 22-year-old Hannah Lucas works at a Circle-K store in Caribou where she meets a lot of elderly people coming to buy things every day.

Since old people are at a high risk of being infected with the virus, Hannah came up with the idea to deliver groceries to their houses.

And Hannah used her team of sled dogs to do this. Hannah moved to Caribou because of her passion for sled dog racing. She spends most of her time training their pack of dogs with Northlane Siberian Huskies and Seppala Siberian Sled Dog.

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Hannah realized that her dogs could not only race but also become professional delivery staff. Hannah posted her idea on a private group on Facebook and has received a lot of support from other users. After her first trip on March 4, the number of orders has tripled. Hannah did not expect that her service would be welcomed by so many people.

So every day, Hannah and two other trainers with their 12 dogs are outside to deliver essential items to people. On average, they go out for 4 to 6 trips per day. Hannah shared that she was glad that she could help other people during times like these.

All orders are received and processed by Hannah's team on Facebook. After that, they will draw a map and calculate the route carefully. Most of their customers live near the train station. Gradually, the image of 12 dogs delivering groceries has become familiar with people living in the area.

Not only the customers but her dogs are also excited to get to run on snow every day. Sharing about her future plan, Hannah said that she did not have any intention of stopping her delivery service. But perhaps, when the temperature becomes warmer, she will have to think of another method to deliver the orders.
