Richard Browning is a British inventor from Gravity Industries which is developing a real life Iron Man-style suit that can help you fly.

The flying dream

People usually say that if you want to be an entrepreneur, you need to be willing to take quite a few risks. That being said, a British inventor named Richard Browning has risked his company and his own life to follow one crazy dream – flying with an Iron man-style suit.

Richard Browning is pursuing his dream of flying

As a kid, Browning used to spend a lot of time with his father making model glider. He is the kind of kid who always believes in flying to be an extreme form of complete freedom.

In 2017, he founded Gravity Industries. Since the early days, the company’s flagship product has been the Iron Man-Style personal flying suit. Also, the chief test pilot of this project is none other than Browning himself.

Recently, Browning has flown the latest model of the suit in a video from Born to Engineer’s YouTube channel. This video below demonstrates how a sci-fi concept can be so realistic with the right tool and mindset.

A well-calculated risk

Born to Engineer is an UK campaign with the main purpose to inspire young people to follow their dream and draw their interests in engineering.

In the video, we can see that Browning is willing to put his life on the line, trying to make the suit perfect. According to Browning, the reason why he can make such rapid improvement is learning from safe failure. He also stated that if you are going to fall several feet onto concrete then it is still the risk worth taking. And flying with the suit on is unlike anything else he has experienced before.

Engineering is critical to nearly everything we rely on around. It’s a wonderful journey of creativity. It’s one of the most rewarding and amazing career paths you can take. And Richard Browning’s success is another step for humans towards advanced era of flight technology.
