Battle Of The Robodogs
On June 04, Amazon has started their re:MARS conference. It will last four days from the 4th to the 7th of June and focus on some subjects such as space, automation, machine learning, and robotics. CEO of Boston Dynamics - Marc Raibert was among the first ones to go on stage.
During Raibert's presentation, the most impressive highlight (or the most embarrassing moment) must be when one of the SpotMini robodogs fell off. However, he still expects a magnificent landscape for the future of bots - including robots that specialize in fighting for entertainment.
Contenders Of Future
Following a new story from Quartz, Raibert thinks that in the future, people could use their SpotMini robodogs as contenders in a real competition over the network.
Raibert also demonstrated the fighting potential of his robots by showing the audiences a video of 4 SpotMinis play around with a blue ball. Maybe that was to show off their potential usage in a less violent sport.
Rapid Development
We can't know whether these robodogs could become the gladiators of the 21st century or not, but they have been under rapid development. Some construction companies in Japan are testing the capability of these dog robots in overseeing the progress on the worksite.
