A biker was engulfed in flame after the bike caught fire when being sprayed sanitizer on. The accident is believed to happen at a COVID-19 checkpoint

Last week, a biker was engulfed in fire after the bike he rode caught fire when being sprayed sanitizer on. The accident is believed to happen at a COVID-19 checkpoint.

The video recording the whole incident shows the man and two government workers in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Seconds after sanitizer was sprayed on the back of the bike, the vehicle caught on fire.

The rider immediately jumped off the bike and ran away. Another worker at the scene pulled the bike away to prevent it from being damaged further. A man was seen rushing to get a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.

As research shows, 3,000 droplets carrying the virus can be dispersed after one single cough. These infectious substances can last for up to three days on surfaces. This is why in some regions, the government has ordered sanitizer to be sprayed on vehicles.

The latest report on the number of infected cases and dead toll makes India the seventh worst-hit by COVID-19, surpassing France and Germany, with over 190,000 patients and 5,394 people lost their lives to the pandemic.

The center government stressed that lifting lockdown is to facilitate the recovery of the economy, which has taken a big hit because of COVID-19.

The lengthy lockdown starting March 25 has caused severe consequences for daily-wagers who find themselves out of work and no money, or food left to survive. With no other option left, they left cities for their hometown on foot.

According to a report released on Monday, ever since the nationwide lockdown, the unemployment rate has increased to 23.48%.
