Most industrial designers aren’t the ones to receive the most attention. We rarely know the names of those overseeing the design of products that we use daily.
But with some of the most iconic products from the Cupertino giant , we can easily tell who is the designer: Jony Ive.
As we only know Ive as the chief designer of Apple, many of his other creations are still some kind of mysteries. Turns out, Apple’s products are not the only things that Ive designed. His list of works includes many other things, things that you probably don’t even expect.
You would never have though Ive used to design a toilet. But he did.
Below is the list of work of Jony Ive that has nothing to do with Apple.
The TX2 pen specially made for fidgeters, which was designed when Ive was still an intern.

Ive realized that a lot of people have a habit of fiddling with their pens to relief stress. The TX2 came with a clip and a ball at the top of the pen for that exact purpose. Maybe this was the first fidget toy in history, similar to the fidget spinner which became famous in 2017.
A land-line phone

In the 80s, Ive designed a land-line phone called the “Orator” which earned him an award.
And this is Ive’s sketch for a power drill.

Ive used to work at a design consultancy in London called Tangerine in his earlier years. Some of the projects that he worked on include bathroom sinks.

And a toilet as well.

If Jony Ive designed a bathroom in the 90s, this is how it probably would look like.

And this is a comb that Ive designed, called The Brian Drumm Flatliner.

Ive used to design a Christmas tree without any decorations for Claridges Hotel in London.

Every Christmas, the hotel is decorated with Christmas trees designed by famous designers.
Ive worked with designer Marc Newson on products for charity purposes, including a $250,000 diamond ring.

Ive’s father used to work as a silversmith. This may have affected his decision to design such a fine piece of jewelry.
The Diamond Ring was put in an auction at the Sotheby's called “Jony and Marcs’ (RED) Auction” with the price of $256,250.
And this is a Leica camera that Ive designed, which had a price tag of $1.5 million.

A $1.685 million desk.

Gold Ear Pods which cost $461,000.

And finally, the US Space Shuttle thermal window’s custom stand, which had a price of $845,000.
