With the launch of the latest Reliance Jio’s product, phishing actions have been spotted. Users are advised to watch out for those fake emails.

Upon the announcement of Reliance GigaFiber launching its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services, internet scammers have already use tricks to pull a phishing scam by sending users fake emails. The phishing emails seem to be sent from the name Reliance Jio itself; however, they are identified as a random address.
The mails come with the subject “Gigafiber – Activation Request Received”, the title “Jio Digital Life” and the text “Activation Request Received”. These cybercriminals went all the way to replicate the exact colors and styles of the fonts officially used by the companies, to gain reliability. You may find in the email attached links to confirm your subscription or to check some related details (including pricing or plans). In case you are sent similar emails, it is best not to click on any link provided. You are seeing a typical scam act to trick users into giving away their personal banking information under the disguise of subscribing to Jio GigaFiber service.
Reliance Jio has officially introduced its new and cheaper version of the optical network terminal (ONT) device. Jio has also launched “Gigahub Home Gateway”, which is a part of GigaFiber service. The aim and also the best part about this offer is a much lower cost that users have to pay, from Rs 4,500 to almost half the number (Rs 2,500).
