Airbus has recently tested a new-generation aircraft called A350-900 which is equipped with full of sensors. With the state-of-art aircraft, the aerospace corporation from the Netherlands hopes to bring the highest-quality flights to its customers and reduce vital manpower. However, that seems to mean sensors will be installed in some odd positions.

More particularly, sensors will be present everywhere in the A350-900 aircraft in a bid to keep track of passengers’ habits on air. They may include the most-loved snacks, how many cups of coffee passengers drink, as well as the number of times they open the lavatory’s door.
All kinds of data are expected to help Airbus to control the inventories for each plane more effectively. Besides, these sensors will provide some specific data such as how often passengers recline seat backs, which helps the airline company follow and conduct maintenance checks more timely. Another benefit hails from the fact that a large amount of manpower will be no longer necessary to maintain the most ideal condition for each flight.

In addition, Airbus can also detect what it should do to bring more comfort to its customers in their own seats, or how to improve the fuel efficiency of the aircraft, and therefore, the prices of flight tickets may be lowered.
To gain all of the above targets, Airbus will have to collect and analyze a huge amount of data including sensitive data of passengers. It is obvious that not all of the passengers will feel happy with the sensors spying them during the flight. Also, some may be concerned about what kinds of data airlines are collecting and hiding from them.
