A Russian girl - Rita Shameeva died at the age of 25 in January 2016 due to an unknown cause. After about a year, she got a rather uncommon headstone that looks like an iPhone from her father.
It is not hard to spot it among many other headstones with its 5-ft tall.
The woman's father, Rais Shameeva, was the one bought and installed that headstone, although he did not reveal any more details to the press.
This giant iPhone headstone is made from basalt and it is currently located in a cemetery in the Russian city of Ufa. It is designed and sculpted very well, looks very similar to the shape of the iPhone 7 with very good portrays of the front and rear cameras, Home button. And even small details like the LED flash as well as the light sensors are carved very similar to the real ones.
Obviously, her father did this not just to make a giant replica of iPhone 7 but he made it as a memorial. Therefore, there are her details carved on the headstone, including her name, date of birth, date of death and most importantly very well-carved picture of her.
And many people coming to Ufa was surprised when they first saw this "uncommon" headstone. There are positive and also negative comments about this headstone like:
This gravestone was probably designed by Pavel Kalyuk - a Siberian artist. “We began to make monuments just to attract attention", Kalyuk said. In 2016, his company started doing business in designing "death accessories" and some are similar to this iPhone headstone. And that happened after this iPhone headstone getting much attention from the Russian public.
