A math formula that is said to be the rule of all creatures in the world, from the tiniest to the largest, is found by Robert Krulwich - a mathematician. It can reveal the time when one will die and even can also calculate other things, such as societies and economies. It seems everything is around one magic number.
For instance, when you draw the metabolic rate on Y-axis and size on the X-axis, due to the enormous diversity and complexity of the system and the history, you absolutely expect to see plenty of points representing history or geography all over the map.

You probably realize the contrary. A very simple curve, which is made up of a simple math formula, can result in a simple power law. However, it is never as simple as it would be in real life, due to its unusual exponent, which was quite close to the number three quarters.
At first, you will see itself amazing because you will see its scaling. But importantly, that scaling is represented through all the life included in ecosystems and within cells. Together with its wide coverage from the intracellular up to ecosystems, it is truly impressive.
Moreover, if you take a look at any physiological variable, like the rate of oxygen spread or the length of the aorta, or even the length of any historical event, and you wonder how it scales, then you may be surprised by their similarities.
In conclusion, although it scales like an uncomplicated power law, it has a specialty in its exponent, which is always a multiple of a quarter. What is defined from the data is an extraordinary simple number four, which seemingly governs all biology and all taxonomy from the microscopic groups to the macroscopic ones?
