42 Percent Companies Facing Difficulty In Hiring Tech Talent Globally

42% of organizations globally struggle with finding quality tech talent while 20% cited the time taken to close a tech position as the main challenge.

Almost 42% of organizations in the world are facing difficulties in finding skilled tech talent while 20% cited the time spent on closing a technology position as the major challenge, according to a survey.

Seeking tech talent globally becomes a challenge for a series of companies worldwide.

The report by Mercer|Mettl, a talent assessment firm, pointed out that over 32% of organizations did not have enough knowledge about the effective tools for assessment methodologies during the personnel hiring process.

The lack of budget posed as the second challenge for approximately 24% of respondents, as per the report titled ‘Tech Hiring & Technology Adoption Trends 2019."

Additionally, 12% of businesses lacked an available competency framework while approximately 21% depended on direct interviews for candidates screening.

Apart from 18% of firms which introduced smart technologies powered by AI in resumes filtering, the remaining companies still depended on lengthy methods for their application pre-screening.

This resulted in the unnecessary stretch of the lead time as well as reducing the rate of success in the whole hiring process of the businesses.

And while assessing candidates, 20% of organizations considered the proficiency in required technology skills as the leading criterion.

Meanwhile, 18% of companies tested candidate by considering up-skilling them in the necessary cases. Accordingly, learning ability and cognitive ability become the criteria for evaluation.
