Xiaomi Teased To Launch A New Smartphone With 48MP Camera In India

Xiaomi India's managing director Manu Kumar Jain just revealed on Twitter that Xiaomi is planning to launch a new smartphone with a 48MP camera in India.

Xiaomi’s VP and Xiaomi India’s Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain has gone to Twitter and announced that the Chinese phone maker is planning to announce a new handset with a 48MP camera in the Indian market in the upcoming time. That is all he revealed in the tweet, but it might be the Xiaomi phone with a Snapdragon 730 chipset that the company has recently teased. Rumor has it that it might be the Xiaomi Mi A3, which is the direct successor to the Xiaomi Mi A2 that launched last year. It is also said to feature an on-screen fingerprint scanner and a 32MP pop-up front camera.

In addition, he also said in the Tweet that the company shipped more than 2 million devices of the two Redmi Note 7 smartphones in the Indian market in two months and that means it shipped more than 2.5 lakh devices per week since the two launched. This news comes right after Counterpoint Research’s report claiming that the Realme 3 was the best-selling phone in the online segment in March this year. The Realme 3 is reported to account for 10.4% of market share whereas each of the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro occupied 10.2 percent market share.

To recall, the Realme 3 packs a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a water-drop notch and a 19:9 aspect ratio.  The display is protected by a Gorilla Glass 3 protective layer. As for security, the phone comes with a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear as well as AI Face Unlock feature.

The phone runs on the ColorOS 6 OS that is based on Android 9 Pie at launch. Additionally, powering the device is a battery with a capacity of 4,230mAh with fast charging support.
