Xiaomi New Patents Show New Smartphones With Circular Quad Rear Cameras & Slider Design

Xiaomi has got two new patent for its smartphone design with a special front notch and a slider design with a circular quad rear camera setup.

Xiaomi has just been granted two patents for its phone designs. The new patents include a design with a special front notch and a slider phone with the quad rear camera setup. It is known that slider phones are not new, however, the camera module on this Xiaomi handset is totally new. Should the brand make the handset, it will feature a quad rear camera setup in a circular layout. Another new point is the front notch’s shape on the other patent that the company got.

The initial patent design showcases a slider phone like Mi Mix 3 phone, but with four cameras on the back. Mi Mix 3 features a dual-camera setup on both the front and the back. The patent is probably the successor to this phone.

It is likely that the handset could have a circular quad rear camera setup. As per the patent, this camera module is put at the phone’s center. The flash setup could be placed inside or outside the circular module.

In addition, the above image shows that the phone design has a dual front-facing camera module. These front-facing sensors are expected to be hidden in a slider. Besides, the photos show that the handset does not have any audio jack and its edges seem to be curved from the front to back. In addition, the phone has a SIM tray, USB-C port, a loudspeaker, microphone, and a small chin at its bottom.

Xiaomi Rear Notch

The second patent that Xiaomi received showcased a new front notch design. The phone seems to have a vertically-aligned triple camera setup on the back and dual camera setup on the front. But the front camera module is put within a new notch design. Accordingly, the notch doesn't occupy as much as space as most of today’s phones and looks nice. To remind again, we can't confirm which design the brand will use these designs for its smartphones.
