Samsung has announced that it has sold over 6.7 million 5G-enabled Galaxy smartphones in the global market in 2019, giving a lot of consumers the chance to experience the speed of the next-generation network. As of November 2019, Samsung occupied 53.9% of the global 5G phone market and led the mobile industry with a total of 5 Galaxy 5G smartphones, including Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, Note 10 5G, Note 10+ 5G, as well as two recently-released devices, Galaxy Fold 5G and Galaxy A90 5G. In addition, the brand will release its next 5G Galaxy smartphone series called Galaxy S20 in 11 February. The series includes Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra.
The Galaxy Tab S6 5G, expected to go on sale in Korea in the first quarter of 2020, will be the world's first 5G tablet with super-fast speed, coupled with the amazing processing power and performance of the Galaxy Tab series. Having a high-end screen, unique multimedia features, and now 5G connectivity, the Galaxy Tab S6 5G will give consumers the ability to conduct high-quality video conferences, as well as immersive entertainment experience when watching movies, or playing online games and streaming games from the cloud with friends.
Recently, Qualcomm released its next series of chipsets, including Snapdragon 765G and Snapdragon 865. Both of these chipsets come with a 5G modem and they will help to bring more 5G connectivity to a lot more Android smartphones. Because of this, all models in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 series will come with 5G connectivity, instead of having a separate 5G model like the Galaxy S10 5G. However, while this can be a great feature to have on a smartphone, it will also likely boost the flagships’ price as well. As for Apple, the iPhone maker is tipped to release its first 5G-enabled iPhone in September this year with a price increase of below $50 (around Rs. 3,500).
