Samsung Reportedly Patents A Smartphone With Triple Displays

The patent of Samsung shows a smartphone with three screens on top of each other. No sign of a camera bump or fingerprint sensor is seen on the back

The tech scene is moving forward fast, and many of the innovations come from the smartphone niche. What is trending now is Samsung and Huawei’s foldable phones; however, we have seen neither of them makes it to the market yet.

The Galaxy Fold is coming soon, but it does not mean Samsung stops experimenting with new concepts. Recently, it is reported that the South Korean electronics giant has filed a patent for strange-looking new smartphone design.

According to what we can make out from the patent picture, the phone will feature up to three display on top of each other. However, as this is a render from Letsgodigital, not something Samsung announces themselves, so do not get your hopes up just yet.

The patent shows three displays held together by a metal rod

The three screens are kept together by a metal rod and a middle unit at the bottom. From the design, we can project that users can browse each of the display independently, and the three displays will fan out from the bottom of the main screen.

The only button we can find is on the top display. On the rear, there is no sign of a camera bump or a fingerprint sensor, plus, the whole backside looks really smooth.

Please note that not all patents can live to see the day they are released to the public. So this new design means one thing only, Samsung does not intend to stop with the Galaxy Fold when it comes to futuristic smartphone design.

A little bit of update: We may expect to see Samsung's foldable phone in selected markets this September after the company has fixed most of the flaws reviewers pointed out days before its initial official releasing day.
