Although Samsung hasn’t even managed to release the Galaxy Fold, the Korean phone maker is already working on a new foldable phone, reports say. Accordingly, this new foldable handset will feature a clamshell-like design, which folds vertically. The top of the phone would fold down over the bottom, and the screen of the device will measure 6.7 inches. The news came out on Tuesday from SamMobile, citing an ET News story.

Previously, during the UNPACKED event in February, Samsung announced to launch the Galaxy Fold in April. However, the company had to delay the rollout after review units reported a number of issues such as displays getting broken and bubbling under the screen.

The Tuesday report from SamMobile is in line with a report Bloomberg released in March, which said the Korean giant was working to make another two foldable phones, one of which has the clamshell-like design. According to SamMobile, Samsung may launch the vertically folded smartphone in 2020 and there will be a one-inch display on the front to show notifications when the device is not unfolded.

In addition, the March report from Bloomberg revealed that the company also has plans to release a third foldable phone that would fold outwards like the Huawei Mate X.

In separate news, Huawei has also delayed the launch of its $2,600 Mate X to improve the quality of the phone’s screen. It was reported that the phone will come out by September.

As per Samsung, the company last week denied rumors saying it would release the Fold in July. That means we still don’t know when the phone will be released.

Following the delay, AT&T has canceled the phone’s preorders and sent notices to its customers, citing the company’s announcement. Those who preorder the Galaxy Fold will get an AT&T promotional credit worth of $100. Before AT&T, Best Buy had canceled preorders of the foldable phone in May when Samsung failed to provide a new launch date.

Samsung did not respond immediately to a comment request.
