Realme To Unveil 5G Smartphone With Snapdragon 855 In Late 2019

Realme will introduce a 5G model, which will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC, by the end of 2019.

Realme has introduced its two new phones, the Realme X and Realme X Lite in China. Following the current trend, the former Oppo's sub-brand will also unveil a 5G model in 2019. The launch of this model was revealed by Derek Wang, Realme's Chief Product Officer on the sidelines of its launch event. There is not much information revealed about this handset, besides it packing the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 SoC.

Because it is powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC, the smartphone will come with premium features and specifications. In addition, the company will reportedly pay attention to the offline phone market, therefore consumers are able to “touch, feel, experience” the devices and purchase them easily.

It is reported that the upcoming Realme X is expected to go on sale in 3 memory variants in China. The 4GB of RAM + 64GB internal storage model is priced at CNY1,499 (Rs.15,300 roughly). Meanwhile, the phone will have respective price tags of CNY1,599 (Rs.16,300 roughly) and CNY1,799 (Rs. 18,400 roughly) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage model and the 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage model.

The more budget Realme X Lite costs CNY1,199 (Rs.12,300 roughly) for 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant. Besides, the 6GB of RAM + 64GB internal storage model has the price tag of CNY1,299 (Rs.13,200 roughly). And the 6GB of RAM with 128GB internal storage costs CNY1,499 (Rs. 15,200 roughly). Regarding the specifications, Realme X sports a 6.53-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, no notch and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

Additionally, the smartphone’s screen is protected with the Gorilla Glass protective layer. In the camera department, the handset features a 16MP Sony IMX471 pop-up camera on the front. On the back, it comes with dual cameras including a 48MP primary lens and a 5MP depth lens. The camera setup powered with AI also has Super Night Mode support.

In addition, the newly-launched Realme X features an on-screen fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 710 chipset. Also, it comes with a 3,765 mAh cell with VOOC flash charge 3.0 tech support. It runs Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS at launch. It is known that Realme X Lite phone is actually a re-branded model of Realme 3 Pro unveiled in the Indian market in April.
