A couple of months ago Huawei announced its answer to the recent trend of foldable smartphones with its phone with the name of Mate X. While Samsung has beaten them with their Fold model, Galaxy Fold encountered several issues after the release of is review units. The troubles Samsung faces with the flawed foldable phone has caused Huawei to be more careful with its own model.
More Testing
According to the report from CNBC, apparently, Huawei is "cautious" with the Mate X given those problems that the Fold had to deal with. Back when the Fold went to reviewers, they found out that many of the foldable screens broke after a short time of usage. Because of that, Samsung recalled all the smartphones and said that they would announce a new release day this July.
So to ensure the quality and iron out all the issues with the Mate X, Huawei is going to conduct extra tests on the products before the global launch. This model has 5G connectivity so they will focus on releasing it for markets with 5G capabilities.
The Blacklisting
Recently, Huawei has been encountering lots of difficulties because of the blacklisting of the US. Some US-based companies such as Intel, Google, Qualcomm, and others have cut off their ties with it - the Chinse hardware giant due to this ban. That means future Huawei's smartphones won't be able to use Android services anymore, starting from this year August, that includes software services and hardware from the others too. We will have to wait and see if they will ship the Mate X with the existing Android version or will go with ARK OS or HongMeng OS, which is allegedly much faster than Android.
