Google Is Working On Its Own Foldable Phone

Google confirmed that it is working on a foldable phone but no further information is revealed

Samsung might be the first to launch a foldable phone but it does not mean other companies stop researching their own designs. After Huawei, Lenovo, and many other smartphone makers, Google is the next in line to look into a phone that can fold.

So we know that the company is working on the tech but it will not release a foldable phone any time soon.

Last year, Google introduced Android supports for foldable phones

This announcement comes as no surprise for the public as last year, it introduced features supporting this kind of smartphones.

When the phone makers in Asia started focusing on developing a folding mechanism, the public has been waiting patiently to see what interesting updates it can bring to the slow phone market. Tech giants like Samsung and LG are quite vocal about their new designs of foldable or rolling-up phones.

However, the idea is not restricted to handheld devices alone. LG has revealed a new type of 65-inch TV that can roll-up. The Galaxy Fold might not be out any time soon but in the way to research the tech, a lot of side inventions have been implemented on the Galaxy Edge.

Samsung is not quite successful with its own foldable phones as it has to postpone the shipment of the pre-ordered Galaxy Fold indefinitely. It has the edge in being the very first foldable phone to reach the public so the press coverage was impressive. Soon before the official releasing day, the phone’s screen was proven to be broken after being folded just a few times.

With the lesson learned from Samsung, Google should test its product carefully before sharing further about its new invention.
