To achieve an entirely bezel-less design, OEMs have pulled off all kinds of tricks. Some of the ideas we have seen are notches, pop-up camera, dual screens, and punch holes. The latest design on the market is from ASUS. The company introduced a flipping camera setup that can take pictures from both the front and the rear of the phone.

That is a neat trick to see the ZenFone 6 pulls off. However, when you look on the inside, there is much more to be amazed about.
The flip camera means that the phone does not have IP ratings. However, one may need to put in lots of effort to get into the inside of ZenFone 6. According to Zack Nelson, the YouTuber behind this teardown, the glass back was connected to the frame by gooey adhesive, so it was difficult to remove. ZenFone 6 also has cables located near the side, meaning cutting needs to be done carefully.
On the inside, the battery is not as tightly glued as the glass back. The pull tab seems to have no use here. While this made the job easier, one may question the durability of the device.
The cables that connect the cameras to the motherboard are as unique as the motor of the flipping mechanism. The cables are inside a durable material, but the connectors are non-standard, meaning pulling them out will ruin the cameras.
Overall, the ZenFone 6 is an interesting phone to use and to behold, but if it is broken, repairing will definitely be a pain. The two motherboards are connected with a thermal paste, which is a bit silly as the heat will be transferred back and forth between the two. Users of ZenFone 6 should be aware of its temperature when in use.
