Despite the larger plan to increase the price of smartphones by most chief manufacturers in the world, the year 2019 has seen the debut of a handful of budget-friendly ones. Big names like Samsung, Apple, and Google have had their candidates in this price bracket. OnePlus is in the spotlight for offering top specs on a phone with a low price. And the next in line is Asus with its ZenFone.
Asus has had a lot of trouble competing with the most prominent players in the business as it seems like the top five have taken all of the spotlights. However, with the ZenFone 6, things might change for the better for the company.
Let’s talk about the OnePlus 7 Pro first. It has given up on the hole punch and the notch. Instead, it offers a pop-up selfie camera that can distract when the phone detects sudden events like when the phone slips out of your grip. It can double as a rear camera too; all you have to do is to press a button on the screen.
That many specs are more than enough to make the phone the prime candidate for anyone who is on the market for a new or a second phone. And most people have to admit that it is a smartphone that offers value for money. However, OnePlus may not have time to enjoy the glory the OnePlus 7 Pro brings as other players are hot on their heels.
Now get back to the ZenFone 6. Under the hood, there is the Snapdragon 855. A powerful 5,000 mAh battery fuels the whole thing. A headphone jack will appear on the phone too as the eliminate-the-jack trend belongs to the past now.
Whether it is enough to help Asus breaks into the competition or not is the question only time can answer. However, we have to give Asus some credit for venturing into the top-spec, low-price game.
