Recently, a user of OnePlus One reported that his smartphone went up in flame in the middle of the night. This accident has led to lots of concerns over OnePlus’s devices. However, as this is a separate event, it is still too soon to hold the company fully responsible for it nor for any other user to give up on their OnePlus device forever.

This accident was reported on Twitter by a user named Chaiti Narula. She said that the owner, Rahul Himalian woke up at 3:15 am finding himself surrounded by "suffocating and nauseating" fumes. He shared that the phone was unplugged and switched off. When he saw the origin of the fumes, which is the OnePlus One, he used water to extinguish it, and thus prevent an explosion from taking place.

Before this one, there have been two other reports of OnePlus One devices catching fire. However, users should not treat this as an alarming sign nor compare it with the incident when Samsung had to pull a large number of its Galaxy Note 7 after 35 devices exploded all over the world. iPhones have been in the same situation several times.

Rahul has asked OnePlus and Amazon to set this incident with the OnePlus One right.
