Now, users of Twitter can add a maximum of five lists to be alternative timelines in the social network platform on mobile devices. With this function in place, you can browse through several account groups right from the home screen.
This new featured was tested in June and it was launched for iOS users a few days ago. This tweet provides a closer look at how this feature works in real life:
The idea behind this change is that you can make use of this function to better filter and follow your timeline’s subsets, for example, your colleagues at work, or make a timeline around some particular users, like the fans of your favorite music band, without following them on your main timeline.
Lists have been on Twitter for a long time in the form of vertical feeds, but now, they are pushed to the center of the experience, along with the main timeline.
The five pinned timelines must still follow Twitter’s regular rules on lists. Users have the choice to make them private or public. The public lists of users can be followed by other people too. If you do not want to appear on the lists of some people, you can remove your account by blocking them on Twitter.
Apart from the pinned lists, the social media platform has also revamped the look of its list pages, with the addition of header images and a better view of the list of subscribers and members.
