The transition moment between the old year and the New Year is an excellent time for companies to send their best wishes to its partners, customers, and supporters during the past time. However, it looks to Huawei as if was off to a bad start just ahead of the threshold of the year to come.
The whole affair started with the company's tweet on Huawei Technologies official Twitter account:
Nonetheless, what is worth mentioning is that the inscription under the tweet "“Via Twitter for iPhone", a text which automatically added to tweets sent using the iPhone Twitter app. While the tweet was taken down immediately after posted, it was quickly captured by Marques Brownlee, a YouTube tech reviewer.
Whether or not you're a tech-holic, we all know that Apple is one of the fiercest competitors of Huawei on the American market. Because this affair occurred on both international and Chinese news platform, it came as no surprise that this serious blunder caused a huge embarrassment to the Chinese manufacturing giant. Cited Huawei's Corporate Senior Vice President ChenLifang in an internal memo that the Huawei brand suffered damages caused by the incident.
The incident also occurred on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging platform
Reportedly, the employee who directly responsible for this affair has been downgraded and punished by reducing the monthly salaries by 5,000 yuan ($728.27). Additionally, Huawei’s digital marketing director has also demoted by one rank and received a similar wage decrease. Not only that, but both of them will also be a wage freeze of the next 12 months. Moreover, their annual assessment will also be ranked under grade B and couldn't get any promotion in a year starting from January 2, 2019.
