Back in 2016, Lenovo messed up a bit with the concept of a flexible display. The computer giant introduced CPlus, a bendable smartphone which could wrap itself around your wrist. CPlus featured a flexible screen that is 4.26 inches large and sported Android OS.

The company didn’t make any immediate comments about its new patent application.

The foldable phone has drawn a lot of public attention, and CES 2019 was not an exception. At the event, Royole introduced the FlexPai, also known as the world’s first foldable phone, and Samsung unveiled its alleged Galaxy X expected to launch this March. While it’s still unclear how the technology can work smoothly, major phone players like Huawei, TCL, and LG are also working on their own foldable handsets.

For now, the foldable phone is still a challenging field, but there are hopes that companies will soon conquer this technology and implement it in a wider range of devices.
