Having Android OS on the Mate 30 still remains unclear as Huawei claimed about that. The phone is reportedly set to launch in later months of this year. In an interview with media in China, the company’s chairman Liang Hua admitted that the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will make their own way with an alternative to Android if Huawei can’t reach out the operating system of Google.
According to Liang, if the US government lifts the ban and gives Huawei the ability to use Android, it will continue to use Android. By contrast, the company will have to go with alternatives. Answering how ready its homegrown OS is, Liang said it would depend on users’ own experience.
In fact, Huawei actually does not want to give up on Android-powered smartphones, at least in the near future. The Chinese giant also has confidence about a resolution, and it is ready to fight for the consumer group’s survival. At the same time, Liang also confirmed that the presence of Android on the upcoming Huawei phones will be up to the decision of the US government.
Huawei is likely to roll out the Mate 20X 5G in China next month, marking it as the company’s first 5G smartphone. Prior to this, this model was available for sale in the UK for roughly Rs 83,500. Given that the phone was introduced before the ban was activated, it will be packed with Android OS.
The Chinese giant has prepared for an alternative for quite a while. Being called "HongMeng", the operating system was expected to take on the role of Android, but many believe that it could hardly compete with Android.
