It’s still a few days before CES 2020 but Dell has already unveiled a device that it touts as the lightest and smartest 15-inch PC in the world. The new Dell Latitude 9510 starts from just 1.5 kilograms and while its aluminum body often goes with a 14-inch screen, this one features a 15-inch display that’s 400 nits full HD and 100% sRGB color gamut coverage.

According to the company, this laptop also offers longer battery life than any other PC in the 15-inch line, which can be as long as 30 hours. However, this figure hasn’t undergone a real-world test, and it is using mid-range components while the Latitude 9510 can support up to Core i7 chips. But if the laptop can live up to just half the number, it would still be impressive.

In addition, Dell has also hyped the Optimizer software, which the maker says uses AI to learn how users work so that it will automatically change battery life, audio, and performance in accordance with the on-going task. With additional Wi-Fi 6 as well as optional 5G, users can work all day long no matter where they go.

The Dell Latitude will go on sale on March 26 with a starting price of about Rs 1,29,099 ($1,799).

There’s more. Dell has upgraded the already small XPS 13 by making parts of it bigger while maintaining the exact same size. With the new offering, the screen size has increased to 13.4 inches featuring an aspect ratio of 16:10, as opposed to the older 13.3-inch display. Besides, the bezel is now smaller, meaning a smaller screen-to-body ratio. Dell was even able to put an IR webcam to the device’s top bezel for signing in using facial recognition.

The reborn XPS 13 also comes with larger keycaps while the keyboard size remains the same. There’s a fingerprint scanner mounted in the power button as well and Dell says that the touchpad has increased 19 percent in size.

On the other hand, the company still makes the laptop’s body out of CNC-machine aluminum while the screen is protected with Gorilla Glass for durability and strength. The palm rests is now made of glass fiber or carbon fiber for lighter weight and lower temperature while in use.

The components inside are similar to those on the XPS 13 two-in-one, such as the 10th-generation Intel chip, up to 32GB storage, Iris Pro integrated graphics, as well as Wi-Fi 6. The XPS 13 2020 model’s price may start at Rs 71,762 ($1,000) and will go on sale globally next month.
