Joining Google and Microsoft, Apple has announced that its WWDC this year will be held online due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
It has been 31 years since Apple held its first Worldwide Developers Conference. And this is the first time Apple will hold its conference online. The official dates have not been announced yet but Apple will organize the conference in June. There won’t be any delay in the announcements for the latest software and some hotly anticipated hardware.

In an official statement, Phil Schiller, Apple marketing chief said that the current COVID-19 outbreak had forced the company to come up with a new format for WWDC 2020 to bring to the entire developer community a full program with sessions and an online keynote.
The WWDC of Apply usually takes place at the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, California. An online format will guarantee the safety of not only the company’s employees but also journalists and developers who participate in the event.
As for what we should expect at this year WWDC, Apple will unveil its latest software which includes iOS 14, iPadOS, macOS 10.16, watchOS7, and tvOS 14.
There have been some leaks related to iOS 14, suggesting that a new fitness app, improved mouse cursor support, PencilKit API, etc. are coming. It is possible that WatchOS7 will add to future Apple Watches oxygen level monitoring and sleep tracking.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, most conferences and events are moved online. It is great to see tech giants are taking precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
