During the COVID-19 outbreak, Apple CEO Tim Cook has allowed the company’s global employees to work from home. Apple is the next company that encourages remote work.

In his announcement, Tim Cook said that global employees of the company could start working from home starting from March 9 until March 13 if possible.

Before this, employees at Apple’s headquarter in San Francisco, have already received permission to not have to go to the office.

In the same announcement, Tim Cook said that the company was trying to reduce human density while providing employees with a safe working environment.

The company has already equipped its American stores with more hand sanitizers as well as hiring more sanitary workers.

Back in February, Apple temporarily closed all of its retail stores in China to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The stores have been reopened.

This work from home policy is applied to all of Apple’s global employees in countries around the world including America, the UK, Switzerland, Italy, France, South Korea, Japan, and Germany.

Apple also requested that sick employees stay at their houses. Employees are encouraged to have online meetings, wash their hands regularly and avoid close contact with other people.

Cook also emphasized that employees would still receive their salary as usual.
