Google’s posts on its hiring platform, as well as the Reuters report, also point out the number 20 is just a part of this team.

The tech giant, Google, started its business as a search engine, but along with the development, it has expanded many other fields and products.

At the time, the company has seemingly been attracted by hardware devices to create microchips for a series of its products, from smartphones to any other device in the future.

According to a report from Reuters, Google has recently posted a recruitment notification on LinkedIn revealing that about 20 engineers have been hired to join in a team called “gChips”. In addition, more chances may come to other engineers in the coming time. “gChips” will be established at a new facility in Bengaluru, one of the most outstanding tech development centres in India.

Some may be surprised when realizing that among 20 recently hired workers, at least 16 have had the experience in developing semiconductors. They have dedicated their efforts to some famous tech companies such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Intel, and Broadcom.

Google’s posts on its hiring platform, as well as the Reuters report, also point out the number 20 is just a part of this team. Until the end of this year, the company will allegedly expand the scale of the “gChips” to 80 employees whose major jobs including fine adjusting and testing all designs of chips before the complete blueprints are sent to its manufacturers.

Up to now, Google has just manufactured processors for data servers, as well as created chips that specialize in processing images on the Pixel line. The company has focused more on developing chips in the global market, and especially in the Indian market – the tech playground where Android, with the promising market share, has shown its more impressive signs over Apple. It hopes to promote its profit margins with this move.

Besides, Google’s rival, Apple, has planned to produce its devices, along with the assemblage of the iPhone X, in the Indian market. However, the future has a lot of unpredictable things. For example, Google’s testing its chips in Bengaluru may be not related to its Pixel smartphones. Let the time to answer all of our questions!
