It’s only a couple of months left until September, the time of Xnxubd 2020 Nvidia release for the next generation of its Ampere graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 30 series.
With the release date of Xnxubn 2020 Nvidia new getting closer, there are rumors that Nvidia is ceasing the production of some graphics cards from the RTX-20 series. Wccftech reported that the company has discontinued the production of the RTX 2080 Ti, 2080 Super, 2070 Super, and 2070. Furthermore, major vendors will also delist these four cards soon. They make up the most part of the current ultra-enthusiast and high-end segment of the Nvidia’s GPUs.
This is not the first time Nvidia made this move. At the time of Xnxubd 2018 Nvidia when the company launched the RTX 20 series, it stopped producing the GTX 10 series. As a result, there was a shortage of RTX 20 graphics cards, and their prices went up even higher than the original price tags. For example, at launch, the GTX 1080 cost $700, but after the discontinued production, second-hand sellers sold them at $1,000 or even more.
If Wccftech’s report turns out true, the same thing will happen again for Xnxubd 2020 Nvidia because cryptominers are snatching up GPUs. These days, cryptominers prefer GPUs to CPUs since graphics processing units offer more Arithmetic Logic Units (ALU) that perform mathematical computations. This means GPUs can perform more calculations, meaning more output in the mining process. Cryptominers can run dozens of things at the same time.
According to Bitcoin, it’s now the hardest time to make a profit for bitcoin miners, many of whom will likely stop until fall. It’s forecast that asset prices could go up to $19,044 by year-end. Therefore, despite the current difficulty, miners may buy up the remaining RTX 20 GPUs on the market, which in turn raising their prices. With that in mind, the Xnxubd 2019 Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti may cost $1,500 - $1,600 by year-end.
Another question is why the company only discontinues the RTX 2070, 2070 Super, 2080 Super, and 2080 Ti. The reason could be Ampere, a major upgrade from the existing Turing architecture. According to Nvidia, the RTX 3080 will be 30% faster than the 2080 Ti, which means the RTX 3080 will offer over 60 fps in most games if paired with the right CPU.
Since the RTX 20 graphics cards were meant for those making big investments into performances, it makes sense to start with those and leave the RTX 2060, RTX 2060 Super, GTX 1660, GTX 1660 Super, GTX 1660 Ti, GTX 1650 as well as three GTX 1650 variants for lower-end options.
It’s likely that the RTX 3080 will come at a much higher price than the RTX 2080 Ti at launch, probably a $300 difference, resulting in a potential price of $1,300. In addition, rumor has it that the RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti could be priced from $400 to $500.
Xnxubd 2020 Nvidia – GPU list
According to Wccftech, the company will release the following Xnxubd GPUs in its upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series:
- RTX 3060
- RTX 3060 Ti
- RTX 3070
- RTX 3070 Ti
- RTX 3080
- RTX 3080 Ti
- RTX 3090
- Titan RTX (2ng-gen)
A tech outlet revealed that the graphics card maker will equip the RTX 30 series PGUs with a new power interface featuring a 12-Pin design. From the first look of the 12V 12-pin connector, it looks like the dual 6-pin connectors together. The connector has a similar look with the Molex Micro-Fit power connectors that are 19 mm wide with a 3mm pitch. This is also the same as PSU’s current dual 6-pin power connectors, but it offers an 8.5A capacity in comparison with the 6A mini-Fit 5556 connectors.
It’s also reported by the source that next to the 12-pin connector, there will be a secondary 4-pin interface but with an unknown purpose. This interface will feature in a GeForce RTX 30 Ampere Gaming graphics cards under the PG142 board number.
Nvidia released the GeForce 20 series in September 2018 and a Super refresh for the series in July 2019. This series marked the introduction of the firm’s Turing microarchitecture as well as RTX’s first generation and the first GPUs in the industry a consumer product used real-time hardware ray tracing. The 20 series didn’t include entry-level GPUs but left that segment to the 16 series.
Of the 20 series, the most powerful graphics card is the RTX 2080 Ti, and as of now, this is still the fastest graphics cars on the market. It features a base clock speed of 1,350 MHz, boost clock speed of 1,545 MHz, and 11GB of speedy GDDR6 memory. Its memory clocks at 14GT per second and memory bandwidth is 616 GB/s.
Let’s see how that will change when the RTX 30 series come out in the next few months.
The second-fastest graphics card of the 20 series is the RTX 2070 Super. This graphics card comes with 1,350 MHz of base clock speed, 1,545 MHz of boost clock speed, and GDDR6 memory of 11 GB. In addition, its memory clocks at 14GT/s and memory bandwidth is also 616 GB/s.
