Sony Has Just Released A 40th Anniversary Walkman

On Thursday, Sony released a 40th anniversary Walkman at IFA 2019, which brings about the nostalgia from the cassette era.

On Thursday, Sony released a 40th anniversary Walkman at Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) 2019, which brings about the nostalgia from the cassette era. However, this special product doesn’t go along with the comeback of tapes. Instead, the device has only a screen saver and a user interface that resemble the look of a cassette.
The newly launched Walkman for 40th anniversary features packaging, logos, as well as a soft casing inspired by the first portable cassette player from Sony.
Is sports an HD screen measuring 3.6 inches, featuring 26 hours of battery life and USB-C charging. In addition, the device comes alongside access to the Walkman store so you can listen to more songs. The company said about the product:
The price of this anniversary offering remains unknown, except for Australia, where it will come out in December 2019 at Rs 29,325 (AU$599).
Walkman, produced by Sony, is a series of portable media players. The company released its first Walkman back in 1979, which was a portable cassette player, it changed people’s listening habits forever by letting them listen to their favorite songs on the move. The player reached every country in the world under a number of names, such as Soundabout in the US, Freestyle in Sweden and Australia, and Stowaway in the United Kingdom.
At IFA, the Japanese company also unveiled Sony Xperia 5 along with in-ear headphones and wireless headphones in five colors: blue, orange, green, black, and red. It additionally announced another two Walkmans which will be rolled out in January next year.
