This PS4 Modular Controller Lets You Swap Parts

You can easily alter the new eSwap controller from Thrustmaster for the PlayStation 4 in whichever way you want thanks to its modular tech.

Do you prefer your analogue sticks symmetrical or offset? Six-button or dual analog? Directional disc or D-Pad? You can easily alter the new eSwap controller from Thrustmaster for the PlayStation 4 in whichever way you want thanks to its modular tech.

Relying on T-Mod technology, the controller lets users swap its modular components any time, even if they’re gaming. Except for the option and share buttons, the face buttons, the right and left buttons, everything else can be replaced, including the handgrips and the triggers. The controller even comes with cosmetic touchpad covers so that users can add and change the look of its large rectangular button, which lies on the front of the eSwap, while keeping the functionality the way it is.

The biggest feature of this controller is its modularity, but according to the official announcement from Thrustmaster, there are other great features such as shorter pre-calibrated analog mini-sticks for ultimate precision, highly tactile button response, and the Thrustmaster software that lets players configure profiles so they can use on both a PC and PS4. Additionally, the company touted the controller’s stable wired connection that it said to be far more reliable than wireless.

However, those modules are still the most impressive. Besides the standard set coming alongside the eSwap, the maker is working on several module packs for the launch of the controller on November 5. While the silver and yellow packs offer cosmetic choices, the “Fighting Pack” offers a module to replace the right analog stick with two programmable buttons, which is specifically for fans that like six-face buttons.
