Back in October, Microsoft held a hardware launch event with the announcement of its latest devices, including Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro 7, Surface Neo and the new flagship device Surface Pro X. What’s more, the tech giant first introduced a new earset called Surface Earbuds, which appears to be a rival to Apple AirPods. Although the company initially intended to roll it out in late 2019, it has changed the shipping date to the next year.
According to Microsoft Hardware Chief Panos Panay, the company expects to provide its fans and customers with the best possible experience as the Surface Earbuds is tasked with going live all around the world in the mid-2020. Talking about the release of it, Panay added that the company has been pursuing relentlessly every detail to get all of them right when making the product.
The Surface Earbuds are stitched with a price tag of $249 (around Rs. 17,800). The earbuds come packed with a charging case, in which there’s a built-in battery offering up to 24 hours of playback. Users can control it much more easily thanks to a couple of touch sensors and dual-directional mics on both the earbuds. With them, a bunch of gestures like tapping, swiping, or touching will be done properly in a matter of seconds.
You can also find it more convenient because the Surface Earbuds have been integrated with Spotify and Office. What’s more, a total of 60 languages are ready for its voice input. The Bluetooth-relied earbuds are available for every device running on iOS, Android, and Windows 10, so you can take advantage of most common digital assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, and Cortana.
