AirPods Pro's Clone Already Spotted In India For Around Rs. 4,700

In just more than a week, a Chinese manufacturer has already started selling a clone version of the AirPods Pro for just around Rs. 4,700.

It took years for Chinese manufacturers to mimic the unique feature on the original AirPods, but with AirPods Pro, they only need more than a week.

Recently, a True Wireless headset product called MX Pro has started to go on sale in China with the price of only $66, equivalent to about Rs. 4,700. It is much cheaper than the $250 (around Rs. 17,800) price tag of the genuine product. It has also been spotted in India as well. The MX Pro has nearly the same design as the AirPods Pro. Moreover, users can also connect this device to an iPhone or iPad nearly as quickly as using a real one. You just need to bring up the device close to an iPhone or iPad and open the lid.

For someone who is not knowledgeable about technology and AirPods Pro, they might think they are identical to each other. However, there are still several noticeable differences between them.

Earplugs design

Although referred to as in-ear headphones, Apple designed the earplugs for AirPods Pro very differently. The joint of the earplugs is shorter, bigger, with many layers of dirt barrier. The orifice is oval in shape and you cannot use any other tips available on the market.

Meanwhile, the clone uses the traditional tip, so you just need to remove the tip to see the difference. You can take a closer look at the comparison image below:

Tail design

Just a small detail, but it is enough to distinguish the two types of products. In the genuine product, Apple has made a little different compared to the previous two generations of AirPods in the tail end design. Meanwhile, MX Pro earbuds copy the same design as the old AirPods.

The tail of the AirPods Pro genuine (right) has been changed compared to the previous generation.

The charging case is poorly made

The advertising video is in quite low quality and blurry, but it is enough for us to see some small processing errors. On the real version, of course, there's never a place for things like this.

The controls are also different

The Mx Pro also offers touch controls such as removing the headset to stop the music or tapping to play / pause or skip tracks. However, with the AirPods Pro, Apple removes the tap functionality. Instead, you have to squeeze the flat indention on each AirPods Pro. In addition, the genuine product also supports pressure-sensitive sensors that MX Pro earbuds do not have.

Does not support active noise canceling and crosstalk mode

Of course, for only $ 66, it is not possible to bring proactive noise canceling to the MX Pro? It also says on the sales website that the MX Pro has a "Physical Noise Reduction" feature, which means using earplugs to block out the noise like many other in-ear headphones.
