Engineers working in the IT industry boast of a lot of sophisticated skills, so their incomes are spring up as a result. For those who are programming Java, PHP or .NET, the figures have risen rapidly due to the high demand for these programming languages. The recruitment firm Reed has already collected data about tech jobs between 2015 and 2017 and the advertised salaries for us to have a closer look at the incomes in the most growing industry.
According to data compiled by Reed, a Java developer can be paid an average salary of up to 70,000 this year, rising 6 percent on last year. In the meantime, the second-highest-paid position in the industry was the full-stack developer, who can earn from 53,500 to 60,300, an increasing 5.6% year-over-year rate. Note that these roles' salaries have seen 41% and 18% over that three-year period, respectively.
Following the trend, PHP developers have enjoyed the highest increase of all tech last year in terms of YoY rate, clocking at an increase of nearly 7% and it increased by 20.6% over the three years. During the period, .NET developers earned around 47,400 this year.
Other roles have also experienced a double-digit rise in salary in the last three years, including network engineer, technical architect, and data scientist. On the flip side, the position of IT director had to see a decrease in pay over the three-year period, dropping between 2016 and 2018 from 89,000 to 83,600.
As per Reed, Java, JavaScript, and Python now are leading the list of the most popular programming languages.
