TikTok Salt-Swallowing Challenge Is Extremely Dangerous, It Can Send You Into A Coma

Challenges on social media can go viral and attract lots of participants. However, the latest salt-swallowing dare on TikTok raises concerns over its effect on people’s health. With this challenge, what you have to do is trying to swallow salt without spitting it out.

A doctor in the UK said that this challenge was especially dangerous. Eating too much salt can have a negative effect on our health and sometimes it can be poisonous.

When the body has to absorb too much salt, the sodium level will increase, which causes symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and thirst. In serious cases, the brain may swell as a result of a high level of sodium in our system, sending the person to a coma.

Before this salt-swallowing challenge, another dangerous dare called the Skull Breaker was also especially dangerous. In this challenge, school kids hit their friends by the legs so they fall and hit their heads. Two teens in the U.S were reportedly injured as a result of this Skull Broker challenge.

This is not the most dangerous dare that TikTok has ever seen. Another involves participants partly insert a charger into a socket and drop a coin into the gap. Many fires have been caused because of this challenge.

All of these challenges are dangerous and can leave severe consequences. So before you think of attempting any of these, consider what you and others may suffer. Is social media’s attention worth the tradeoff of your health?
