If You're Dealing With Stress, Try Lying Down In This Grave

Exams have been giving many students more and more stress, so this university came up with a creative solution to help them overcome that.

Exams have been giving many students more stress with several sleepless nights, piles of textbooks and documents to learn, making them think like they’re dying of study. With that in mind, a Dutch university decided to help such students have a near-death experience so that they can have a picture of what that would feel like.

The university in question is Radboud University based in Nijmegen has come up with an idea out of this world, digging a ‘meditative grave’ for students with the aim of helping them overcome stress during the exams. A lot of universities have been working to use various therapies to help students suffering from exam anxiety, but no one has done something like this.

The Mirror reported that some universities have offered students mindfulness meetings dog sessions, and even quiet spaces, but none of them has gone as far as this one.

The meditative grave and the university have gone viral as the news was spread about the offer of a grave for dealing with stress. The open grave is dug behind the student chapel and many students want to try it.

Inside the grave, there’s a sign saying ‘stay weird.’ This project has obviously become popular among students, hence a waiting list of those who want to try the grave.

A student named Sean McLaughlin shared that he and his housemate planned to go a week before and found that there is, in fact, a waiting list to lie in the grave. Inside the grave, there’s also a yoga mat and a blanket so students feel more comfortable during the special meditation session.

John Hacking, the founder of this project, said that the idea of making this grave is to make students appreciate and value the time they have on earth. He added:
