Robotics Museum Will Be Built By Robots Themselves In South Korea

A Turkish company came up with the idea of combining the labor force between human and robots to build a robotics museum in Korea, which will undergo construction in 2020.

A Robot Science museum is expected to be opened in 2022 in Seoul, South Korea. What is special about this museum is that a team of robots will be directly involved in the construction of this facility.

A Turkish company called Melike Altinisik Architects (MAA) is the one behind this idea. The company has won an international competition for the design of a Robot Science museum. The company's proposal was that the building took after the shape of an egg and covered with panels put into place by robots.

According to MAA, "From design, manufacturing to construction and services robots will be in charge." To be honest, this is a pure exaggeration. The design of the building was clearly a product of MAA's talented creators along with the help of computers and technology. However, robots will also an integral part of the project.

According to World Architecture, all parts will be digitally designed, and the robots will be in charge of molding, assembling, welding, and polishing the outside plates. Once the plates are finished, the robots will put them in place. A 3D printer will produce the base and the surrounds.

Although human will have to do most parts of the project, robots and computers still help with some other tasks.

This museum will be a branch of Seoul Metropolitan Museum and is expected to go through construction in 2020 and open to visitors two years later. Although the idea of combining the labor force between human and robots has never emerged before, many people believe that this will not slow down the construction progress of the project.
