Deep Bajaj thinks that
This opinion may turn him from an event manager to a creator that develops a kind of special product called Peebuddy for women. It is not too much to say even women can’t think of such an initiative.
Bajaj revealed a round trip to Jaipur from Delhi which took place at the weekend in 2013 brought him to this unique idea.
At that time, his team included four couples. While moving, the men continuously drank water, but the women almost didn’t touch the water. They didn’t want to go to the toilet in public toilets.
From that time on, Bajaj started to think about a series of difficulties women would face whenever they go travel. More importantly, he needed to introduce a solution so that women could accept and freely use it. He said,
Bajaj realized that women’s peeing issue also occurs in his own house. More specifically, it’s when his mother-in-law having arthritis and his pregnant wife can’t sit and pee as normal.
A surprising idea came to his brain: why doesn’t he create something that allows women to stand and pee like any man. With his preliminary idea, he gradually determined the next steps. Bajaj began testing many different sizes, models, and shapes in a bid to find out the most suitable model – that is the patent-protected model.
The name of his invention is Peebuddy – the first Female Urination Device (abbreviated as FUD) made in India. It is designed with a common paper cone and satisfies some certain factors such as comfortability and good spill resistance.
Bajaj talking about his invention,
He further said,
Baja had completed a postgraduate course at Australian National University. After that, he started up from a room that was next to the carpets unit of his wife. His future seemed to look grim. According to Bajaj,
It was clear that the initial days were never easy for anyone in the world. And Deep Bajaj was not completely an exception.
He revealed,
Because he didn’t have a medical background, he had to meet many doctors and introduce his product to them. Luckily, a large part of them highly appreciated his invention. Even some quickly suggested Peebuddy be used by patients with arthritis and women in pregnancy.
As such, Bajaj set up a new market for a kind of products that hadn’t ever been existed before. After his first product was successfully launched, Peebuddy co-founders including Deep Bajaj and his brother Mohit Bajaj focused on keeping track of and listening to every feedback from their customers. As Bajaj said,
In addition to Peebuddy, the startup company has introduced a lot of other products, for example, an oxo-degradable bag that is created to handle sanitary products after each use. The next product is also noteworthy: a Sirona pain relief patch.
From then on, his company has launched a series of products for women such as tampons and menstrual cups – these products always belong to the list of top best-selling products. However, Bajaj clearly doesn’t have any plan to make anything like sanitary napkins, or at least a kind of sanitary napkins available in the current market. Bajaj revealed,
When being asked about his motivation, he said he hoped all women around him would have a more comfortable life.
