LG Collaborates With GM To Build EV Batteries

In response to a call from reporters, CEO of General Motors Mary Barra confirmed the collaboration with LG Chem to manufacture batteries for electric cars, which include EV trucks. In general, 20 EVs will be the target sale of the company counting to 2023. 

Following the thoroughly discussed plan, 2.3 billion dollars will be invested in the process of battery production in the factory which is located in Lordstown, Ohio. Therefore, the need for employees will also rise up, which is estimated to reach a number of 1100 vacancies. It is also calculated to create approximately 30-gigawatt hours annually, meeting the increasing demands of electric-vehicle users. 

According to Barra, it is too gigantic of the upcoming opportunity that only one company can not cover the workload. With the help of their like-minded companion, they promise to produce the new generation of vehicles based on their specialist skills as well as reliable resources and eco-friendly materials. Their products will be widely accepted because they are not only designed by high creativity but they are also friendly with the users and the environment, stemming from their economical and efficient characteristics

In the recently published news, the CEO of GM emphasized the seriousness of climate change and environmental pollution. They are happening gradually and human beings now have no other ways except directly dealing with the problems. Barra believed that their upcoming product will contribute to the big revolution of saving the Earth, and her company did make great efforts to help solve the problem. In particular, in 2006, Chevy Bolt was publically introduced as one of the first long-range EV vehicles in the world.
