Recently, Indian media reported a strange case of a man who filed a complaint against Google Maps, blaming it for ruining his marriage.

49-year-old R Chandrasekhar from the Mayiladuthurai district states that he won’t back down. The man put the blame on Google Maps, the app's “Your Timeline” feature to be exact. Every time he goes out, his wife would question him about all the places that he visits. Chandrasekhar says that the app often displays places that he has never visited, causing him troubles when he has to explain them to his wife.

In an interview with The News Minute, R Chandrasekhar said that for the past few months, his wife had been constantly scanning Google Maps’ “Your Timeline” feature. She didn’t let him sleep as she just kept on asker him questions about where he went to. And this has been affecting his family as well.

Desperately, the man came to a local police station to file a complaint against Google Maps for causing serious marital problems between him and his wife. Similar to other cases with profitable corporations being sued, Chandrasekhar also asks for compensation for all the hardships that he has gone through.

He adds that his wife doesn’t listen to anybody. She refuses to listen and only believes in Google.

The police haven’t dealt with the written complaint of Chandrasekhar. However, one officer said that the likeliest solution for this case would be to invite the married couple to come to a counseling session.

If that doesn’t work, the police will think about what steps they should take next.
