How Dubai Police Force’s Tesla Cybertruck Should Look Like

Feeling unsatisfied with Tesla Cybertruck's design, this designer decided “normalize” this car, to make it look like a conventional pickup truck.

Just last week, Tesla unveiled its new electric pickup truck called Cybertruck with a bizarre-looking design. First, before mentioning the advanced features that this car has, its unique design has split the Internet into two sides, especially for the designing field. While many designers feel quite satisfied with Elon Musk’s weird style, many shake their heads with the appearance of the Cybertruck.

Chris Livaudais, Director of the American Industrial Design Association (IDSA) belongs to the second category. He said that just like many other people, he was quite curious about the Cybertruck even before its launch. He had looked through dozens of renders of the design of this car. However, he felt disappointed looking at it on the stage during its official launch.

He shared that, he, just like many other designers, has this weird “disease.” That is he likes to redesign things, thinking he would make them look better.

He expressed that he had seen hundreds of pictures of the Cybertruck with a brand new look. That’s why he has decided to hop on the wagon.

Chris spent his weekend to redesign the Cybertruck on Photoshop. Unlike those who follow the trend of turning the car into a Batmobile, Chris decided to “normalize” this car, to make it look like a conventional pickup truck. The part which he had to fix a lot is the rear of the car, as you can see in the picture below.

However, it is worth noting that Chris never said that his design was better than that of Tesla. This is simply a test that he made for fun, to serve his passion.

Although Chris’s design may look less weir that Tesla’s, the car in real life will be less efficient. Numerous studies have shown that the reason the Cybertruck’s rear body has such a triangle/pyramid shape is to maximize the towing capacity of the vehicle. But with Chris's design, the weight of the car can be significantly reduced.

Elon Musk once hinted that Tesla would soon launch a similar model of the Cybertruck but in a smaller size. Cybertruck has been one of the hottest meme-making topics at the moment. Let’s wait and see what surprises the real-life “Iron Man” will bring next.
