Government In Punjab Paid Double Salary For Its Employees? It Was Just A Technical Mistake.

A few days ago, many government employees in Amritsar, Punjab received a double salary after having hard working days in October. How surprising! What is more interesting when getting a salary to your account at the end of the month? Not only the amount you should get, but it is also doubled.

The employees in Amritsar have experienced such the magic moment! Some believed that the government gave them the extra amount of money as a gift for Diwali festival.

It’s pity that the magic only lasts a second! While they weren’t happy enough, the employees got the announcement from the government that paying double salary is completely a mistake! And the government didn’t have any plan to transfer the extra money to their account; therefore, they should not use the money.

After that, A K Maini – the district treasury officer gave a notice to all of the government employees to explain the incident. The extra money transferred to their account would be considered as a debit.

He further said that apart from Amritsar, many places in Punjab also saw the same incident. It turned out the software got some technical issues. The excess amount in only Amritsar sent to the employees’ accounts reached approximately 40-50 crore.
