The project is a derivative of Google Earth - a 3D simulation of Earth composed of satellite images and aerial photography which illustrate landscapes and scenes from many different views. Also, a color map is now updated to Earth View for the use of color palette in searching landscapes.

In the last period of the previous year, Google claimed that its Street View and Earth projects could cover almost all of the places around the world where humans live, thus includes 36 million miles of Google Earth photographs. As recorded in a blog post, the company started the Earth View Gallery a decade ago, and its products have been used as wallpapers, screen savers, and even in an interactive exhibition in Google Earth’s Voyager, which is a kind of instructed online tour.

Google Earth product manager Gopal Shah wrote in the blog post that she expected that this little project and the whole Google Earth could make the human being to pay more attention to our strange but kaleidoscopically magnificent planet.
