Women’s Sex Toy Maker To Sue NYC Subway After Their Ads Were Rejected

Dame Products sued the MTA for violating the First Amendment rights and showing signs of sex discrimination when it allowed provocative advertisements for erectile dysfunction medication but rejected Dame’s ads relating to sex toys.
On June 18, a company specializing in making sex toys for women submitted a lawsuit concerning that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA for short) had refused to use the company’s ads on the NYC subways.
Dame Products from Brooklyn sued the MTA for violating the First Amendment rights, as well as showing signs of sex discrimination when it allowed provocative advertisements for erectile dysfunction medication, the Museum of Sex, and condoms, but rejected Dame’s ads relating to sex toys.
The Brooklyn-based company gave its argument as below:
The lawsuit is being filed to the Federal Court in Manhattan, and Dame Products wants to be compensated for its damages. In addition, it hopes the MTA will allow its ads to run on the New York City subways.
